The Edge: Summer opportunities for young adults
From the jungles of South America, to the bustling cities of Southeast Asia, or the deserts of North Africa and the Middle East—come be a part of God’s movement to reach the remaining 2.5 billion people who are physically and spiritually isolated from the Gospel. Are you a student or young professional consider long term missions but looking for some cross-cultural ministry experience to explore more of God’s heart for unreached people groups around the world? In partnership with Pioneers-USA, we would like to invite you to consider The Edge, an 8- to 12-week summer missions trip for young adults ages 18-30 in which you will work alongside field workers, learn a new language and culture, and grow in your understanding of God, yourself and His call on your life.
The Edge: participant testimony
"The mission before us is greater than what we can do individually: we're all coming together for the Gospel." These are the words of a Canadian Edge participant, explaining how his two-month trip to partner with a team in East Asia far exceeded his expectations. During his time overseas, Jason's value for unity as the Church body in missions expanded. How? Through working together with other Christ-followers from over five different countries. Together, they encouraged and discipled new believers and declared Christ faithfully to youth from an ostracized, unreached people group in East Asia. Jason realized and shared that "prayer is the most powerful weapon." As a team, they committed to a persistent devotion to prayer each day, and had someone praying throughout each ministry outreach, week in and week out, with expectancy for God to work mightily to draw young people to follow Christ.
Jason hopes to serve as a tentmaker among the unreached and is passionate about mobilizing others to seek the Lord about their role in extending God's Kingdom in unreached people groups. Pioneers prays that participants like Jason springboard from a short-term trip to become long term workers among the unreached, sent out from the Church in Canada!
